Minx Breed Cat

The Myth Of The Minx Breed Cat

The term “minx breed cat” generally refers to a first generation hybrid cat breed.  The two kinds of cats that comprise the minx breed cat are the Manx cat and the sphinx cat.  When these two cats breed, the product is a very unique animal.  So unique, in fact, that people felt the need to make up a name for it!

The majority of pet cats are not pedigreed cat breeds and often they are mixed breeds and it is believed that as few as three percent of all domestic cats are of a cat breed that is pure, though owning a purebred cat does not offer you any significant advantage over other types of cat breeds. In fact, from all across the globe, there are more than hundred different pure cat breeds.

Cat breeds can be as diverse and colorful as any other species of animal, and each type will come with its own unique look, characteristics and temperament. If you are thinking of adding a cat to your family, why not consider one of the most popular cat breeds today? There are plenty of gorgeous cats to choose from, but these five breeds have won over the hearts of more cat lovers than any others.

Although the term “minx cat” is incorrectly used, it has come to refer to a very particular and attractive breed combination.  While continued use of the term might lead people to believe that it is in fact the scientific name of an actual cat, there is no doubt that it refers to a cat hybrid that is rare, distinctive, and unique.
